Dr. Damon Fellman

Damon Fellman MD has served in leadership and educational positions in neurology throughout his career. Dr. Fellman is currently Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurology at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. Prior to his current appointment, Dr. Fellman was Clinical Instructor in Neurology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York CIty for more than 25 years.

Dr.Fellman has served as Associate Director of Neurology at Hackensack University Medical Center for more than 10 years and Director of Neurology at Holy Name Hospital for 12 years. Dr. Fellman founded the Department of Pediatric Neurology at Hackensack University Medical Center and served as Chief of Pediatric Neurology for 13 years. Dr. Fellman is a founding member of Hackensack Neurology Group.

Dr. Fellman is a Board Certified Neurologist who sees adults and adolescents. He was a longtime member of the Professional Advisory Board of the NJ Epilepsy Foundation and has been Secretary of the NJ Child Neurology Society. Dr. Fellman served on the Medical Board at Hackensack University Medical Center and the Medical Executive Committee at Holy Name Hospital. He has served as consultant in Pediatric Neurology to more than 50 school systems in Bergen County.

Dr. Fellman did his Neurology residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and Fellowship in Neurology at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Fellman is a veteran who served as a Major in the US Army and was Director of Neurology at Fort Gordon Amy Hospital in Augusta Georgia.

Dr Fellman is one of the few neurologists in New Jersey with three Board Certifications.  He is Board Certified in Neurology, Board Certified in Stroke and Vascular Neurology, and Board Certified in Headache Medicine.

​

Dr. Fellman has received the Patients Choice Award, citation as one of New Jersey’s Best Doctors, Best Doctors in Bergen County Award and Compassionate Doctor Award. He was named a GOLD Doc by the Arnold Gold Foundation for commitment to humanitarian values in medicine and clinical expertise.. Dr.Fellman has also been named one of Castle Connolly’s Americas Top Doctors.

During his professional career Dr. Fellman has had the privilege of seeing more than 50,000 patients for neurologic consultation.

​

Dr. Fellman is married to Leslie Nagy MD, psychiatrist in Teaneck, ah his favorite hobbies include reading, weekend visits to NYC for walking, theater and museums, and visits to his daughter and granddaughter in Allendale.
